ERNEST OCHOA grew up in South America and Europe and currently resides in North Texas. In Ecuador, Ernest farmed and keep honey bees, had a business exporting rare fruit seeds, and was a founding member of an ecological watershed preserve called Colinas Verdes. While being dedicated to environmental studies in Ecuador, Ernest decided to return to the US to pursue university studies, achieving a degree from UT Austin in Biology, followed by an MD from the University of Michigan, and a Masters of Public Health from UT Southwestern.
Ernest writes poetry, which have a musical, lyrical, and performative quality. His interest in music began in 2012 when he was introduced to Tuvan Throat Singing, which inspired him to study the ancient artform and to also learn how to make and play Didgeridoos.
Ernest's interest in these genre of archaic, vibrational music expanded to incorporate Gongs, chimes, bells, singing bowls, sound plates and beyond.
In 2020, Ernest began formally performing with musicians and artists of Art Nomadic, offering multi media performances, as well as Sound Bath Immersions in the Denton and Dallas Fort Worth area.
The intention of a sound immersion experience is to create a state of harmony by using sound vibrations to clear discord from one's energy field. The vibrational power of sound has the ability to transport one into a deep state of meditation and relaxation. This practice of healing is thousands of years old and has deep roots in cultures worldwide.
